A total of 593 tonnes of green chillies have been imported from India through Benapole port over the past two days. A shipment of 10 tonnes and 956kg of green chillies arrived on a single truck today (15 October). Yesterday, 581 tonnes and 970kg of green chillies were imported on 50 trucks, Rabindra Singh, deputy commissioner of Benapole Customs, said. The shipments were cleared quickly after the payment of duties, he added.
