Objectives of MFDB
  • Collect, preserve and analyze all macro-economic data of national level , other development fields of Bangladesh and other middle income countries
  • Prepare an integrated flexible macro-fiscal forecasting model
  • Ensure its application in smart budget preparation reducing gaps.
  • Provide access to online data, necessary statistical estimates and graphical interpretations for the authority, decision makers and the economic researchers

Major activities of MFDB

The MFDB will help in doing the following activities

Budget Preparation

Use data from an upgraded macro-economic model for budget preparation for Medium Term Macroeconomic Framework (MTMF)

Budget Analysis

Place the outcome of MTMF in the Coordination Council meeting and budget analysis

Model Building

Implement a dynamic model and consult with key stakeholders including academics and private sector on the outcome of the model
