ব্যবসায়ী সম্প্রদায়ের পক্ষ থেকে ঢাকাসহ সারা দেশের আইন-শৃঙ্খলা পরিস্থিতি পুনরুদ্ধারের আহ্বান জানিয়েছে ঢাকা চেম্বার অব কমার্স অ্যান্ড ইন্ডাস্ট্রি (ডিসিসিআই)। পাশাপাশি আইন-শৃঙ্খলা পরিস্থিতির উন্নয়ন এবং অর্থনৈতিক ক্ষয়ক্ষতি কমিয়ে আনার লক্ষ্যে অতিসত্বর আইনগতভাবে সিদ্ধ একটি অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন সরকার গঠন এবং ঘোষণার আহ্বান জানানো হয়েছে, এক্ষেত্রে সংশ্লিষ্ট সবাইকে অতিদ্রুত প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করার অনুরোধ জানিয়েছে ব্যবসায়ীদের এ সংগঠন।

Bangladesh Bank (BB) spokesperson Mezbaul Haque on Wednesday said as Bangladesh Bank (BB) officials are appointed by the government, their resignations will be processed by the interim government after it is formed. “The resignations will be presented to the government on an urgent basis,” he said at a press briefing at Jahangir Alam conference room of Bangladesh Bank headquarters following unrest among officials who demanded the resignation of four deputy governors, one advisor and the head of Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU).

A group of apparel exporters have expressed "no confidence" in the current Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) leadership amid the ongoing crisis in the country. A memorandum was submitted to the BGMEA Acting President Khandoker Rafiqul Islam in this regard on Wednesday (7 August) afternoon, said former BGMEA Vice President Faisal Samad. The decision to submit the motion was made during an emergency meeting held on Tuesday evening.

১৮ লাখ ৩৫ হাজার কোটি টাকার সরকারি ঋণ রেখে দেশ থেকে পালিয়েছেন সদ্য ক্ষমতাচ্যুত প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা। দেশী ও বিদেশী উৎস থেকে এ ঋণ নেয়া হয়েছে। অথচ ২০০৯ সালে শেখ হাসিনা যখন ক্ষমতা গ্রহণ করেন, তখন সরকারের ঋণ স্থিতি ছিল মাত্র ২ লাখ ৭৬ হাজার ৮৩০ কোটি টাকা। সে হিসাবে আওয়ামী লীগের দেড় দশকের শাসনামলেই সরকারের ঋণ স্থিতি ১৫ লাখ ৫৮ হাজার ২০৬ কোটি টাকা বেড়েছে, যা সরকারের মোট ঋণের প্রায় ৮৫ শতাংশ। অর্থ মন্ত্রণালয়ের তথ্যে গত দেড় দশকে সরকারের অস্বাভাবিক ঋণ বৃদ্ধির এ চিত্র উঠে এসেছে।
